Look, it's just a drop waist yoke pencil skirt and a crop top, right? Yet it's symmetry has so inspired me. The lace is stunning and makes me want to do something with lace, so I found on Ebay a vintage pencil skirt pattern with a yoke (Butterick 5850, copyright 1987) that might create a similar effect, but where to wear?
Liking the lace, so rediscovering my interest in godets too, I looked at McCall's pattern 5331 (copyright 2007), which is a drop-waist over-skirt with inverted pleats (godets) and an underskirt. I see the godets in lace and the underskirt in taffeta? OK, maybe a bit over-the-top, but fun to make.
Another option would be Simplicity pattern 2641 (copyright 2009), which is the same principle: Drop-waist skirt with an underskirt and over-skirt. I see the over-skirt in lace.
OK, forget about wearing it in public. Bringing out the flirtatious Goth in me (is there such a thing?) why not a simple drop-waist mini skirt, done in lace, for a special evening of fun in the boudoir? I am Sewsure that this is now heading off track, so later....
